Implementing Sweden’s net-zero ambitions
Sweden aims to achieve carbon neutrality in its cement and concrete industry by 2045 through a national strategy that includes zero CO2 emissions from cement production by 2030, climate-neutral concrete availability by 2030 and all concrete produced in Sweden being climate-neutral by 2045. The BETCRETE research and coordination project, led by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, has worked towards these goals by uniting the construction sector to address materials, regulations, risks and financing.
